[ North Oaks ]
After owning a small house on the property for a decade, the clients wanted to build a legacy home for their grown children and grandchildren with a myriad of special spaces for relaxing, entertaining and working. On their wish list: a dramatic foyer, a spacious kitchen and breakfast room, a cozy family room, an elegant dining room with a leaded glass ceiling, a wine cellar, billiards room and bar, a distinctive library/office and an English-style conservatory with an indoor saltwater swimming pool and a hot tub. Drawing on his knowledge of the decorative arts, Bruce designed a barrel-vaulted strapped ceiling, a leaded glass ceiling, a classic compass rose to accent inlaid flooring and other handcrafted details. Taking inspiration from the colors of lake and sky, he layered the interiors with a nuanced palette of gentle hues and luxe textures, allowing the rooms to flow naturally between indoors and out.
